The Journey

Synpine - Co-Owner

  • Launched Synpine in September 2024 as a web development agency, partnering with a friend to combine complementary strengths:
    • Alex handles client outreach and marketing.
    • I lead full-stack development, designing, building, and shipping complete solutions.
  • Delivered projects for clients including a private jet charter company and a manufactured homes dealer.
  • Developed solutions ranging from SEO optimizations and platform maintenance to full online retail solutions built "from scratch" using HTML/JS/PHP/CSS under the LNMP stack.
  • 2024-Present

DevLabs - Owner

  • Founded DevLabs in April 2024, a year before graduating University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in May of 2025.
  • Launched two standalone businesses:
    • 3DDone: A 3D printing platform with shipping, payment, and customization features (see Portfolio Highlights).
    • CarPlaza: A certified, licensed, and insured car dealership.
  • Gained hands-on experience in legal, business, and technical aspects of startup development.
  • 2024-Present

Solo Practice (2012–2024)

  • At age 12, launched a Minecraft server, gaining early experience in:
    • Networking and hosting: port forwarding, static IPs, client-server connections.
    • HTML/CSS/DNS and what is a public website "under the hood".
  • At age 13, built and launched a PHP-based website using a CMS framework (similar to WordPress).
  • In late teens, lead a team of 9 people across 3 departments:
    • Software (website, forum, game mods, server plugins, overall fixes and optimizations) - 3 developers
    • Marketing and social media - 1 person
    • In-Game development (world, achievements, quests, moderators) - 5 people
  • The Minecraft server later reached 6,000+ accounts created, 160,000+ likes, and 1,000,000+ views on social media.
  • Over the past decade, completed projects of varying complexity:
    • Custom RAID6 NAS solution with multi-user file management software for cloud file storage.
    • Multi-machine mining system with private pool.
    • CRM.
  • 2012-2024

Portfolio Highlights

Manufactured Homes Dealer Solution

Overview:

  • Led an ongoing digital engagement for a manufactured homes dealer, improving its technical SEO, website experience, lead-capture workflow, and digital operations. The commercial relationship began in September 2025 and remains active as of November 2026.

Key Achievements:

  • Technical SEO: Increased the website's SiteChecker SEO score from 23 to 73—a 50-point gain—in five days (October 5–10). Work included resolving orphaned sitemap URLs, missing security protections, metadata and heading issues, duplicate titles, internal links returning 4xx errors, missing image alt text, and canonical/Open Graph inconsistencies.
  • Custom Website Build: Designed, built, and delivered a custom HTML/CSS/JavaScript/PHP website between December 19 and December 30. Replaced repeated page elements with reusable PHP modules for the header, footer, and contact form.
  • Searchable Catalog: Built searchable catalogs for home models, commercial units, and saunas, with dozens of browsable listings available at launch.
  • Conversion Tracking: Connected form and advertising conversion tracking to a custom Google script that populates internal spreadsheets and integrates with a third-party CRM.
  • UX & Performance: Improved responsive behavior and page speed, and added Google reCAPTCHA to help protect the contact form.
  • Advertising: Managed Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns as part of the ongoing engagement.

Technologies Used:

  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Backend: PHP, MySQL
  • Server: Linux, Nginx, DNS, SSL, Cloudflare
  • Tools: WordPress (initial optimization), Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Ads

Key Achievements:

  • Customized Workflow: Created a system for size and color customization, material and print-time calculations, and checkout integration with shipping and payment APIs.
  • Secure Transactions: Implemented Stripe payment processing and automated order tracking.
  • Admin Dashboard: Built an interface for managing customer orders.
  • User Dashboard: Built a customer interface for tracking orders and payments.

Technologies Used:

  • Shipping APIs: USPS, UPS

  • Backend: PHP, MySQL, Node.js
  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Server: Linux, Nginx, DNS, SSL, Cloudflare

Custom Java Automation Tools

Overview:

  • Built a suite of Java utilities to automate repetitive, website-wide maintenance and content operations. The tools process files and references across entire website directories, reducing the need for manual page-by-page changes.

Tools Built:

  • HTML-to-PHP Converter: Converts static HTML page files into PHP files, adds PHP structure, and replaces shared headers, footers, and contact forms with reusable PHP modules.
  • Bulk Image Optimization: Crops and resizes images to target pixel dimensions and aspect ratios, converts them to WebP in bulk, and updates asset references throughout pages and model listings.
  • Image Alt-Text Utility: Finds image references across an entire website—including sites with nearly 100 pages—and applies alt text in bulk.
  • Lowercase URL and File Converter: Renames page files and internal links to lowercase, then updates internal references throughout the website.
  • Lazy-Loading Injector: Processes website files on the server and injects lazy-loading behavior into image elements across the site.
  • Internal Link Crawler: Crawls a website directory and identifies internal links and their references across the site's pages.
  • JSON Translation Utility: Extracts specified JSON fields, sends their values to the Google Cloud Translation API, and writes translated values back into the files.

Technologies Used:

  • Java
  • Google Cloud Translation API
  • HTML, PHP, JSON, and filesystem processing

Self-Hosted Server Infrastructure & Homelab

Overview:

  • Designed, built, and operate a multi-host virtualized environment that supports custom storage, networking, and self-hosted personal and business websites.

Infrastructure:

  • Virtualization: Three physical host machines, each running multiple virtual machines under a self-managed virtualization environment.
  • Networking: Configured subnetting, network segmentation, and iptables NAT and masquerading to manage traffic between hosts, virtual machines, and external networks.
  • Custom NAS: Built a RAID 6-backed storage system connected to an upgraded Raspberry Pi.
  • File Management Platform: Developed a custom, multi-user web application for uploading, downloading, browsing, managing, and viewing files and folders—providing a private, cloud-drive-style experience.
  • Web Hosting: Operate a separate server hosting personal and business websites, with the supporting infrastructure managed independently.

Technologies Used:

  • Linux, KVM, virtual machines
  • RAID 6, Raspberry Pi, network storage
